A Home for Hosting: Local Renter Finally Secures Her Own London Home
Having rented along Barking Riverside with her son for four years, Admin Assistant, Nicky Lane (63) was now looking to purchase her own property in London. She had been saving and was seeking a neighbourhood that provided a vibrant lifestyle and plenty of space to host her friends and family. After a well-researched process, she found an idyllic three-bedroom house in Trinity Park - a new development in Woolwich from developer, Lovell Homes, and concluded that living there would meet all her criteria.
An experienced homeowner, Nicky had previously lived in her own properties around the UK, including a family house in Liverpool and a Victorian townhouse in London which she invested much time and money revamping. Now her children are all fully grown and living independently, and with relatives establishing their lives in places as far flung as North America, she wanted a functional, new home that would not only suit her current needs, but which also had a layout and size suited to hosting visitors.
Nicky says: “I love hosting - I’m really passionate about it. I have friends and family in the North of England and they have family in London, so they come to visit me a lot. I've also got three children, and when my daughter returns from her travels from Canada, it’s important for her to have a comfortable place to stay with me. I feel that I have my own house now where people can visit and make themselves at home, and that’s a real goal achieved.”
Trinity Park, a new development in Woolwich from Lovell Homes, comprises of 338 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, alongside spacious three-bedroom homes. Following from the success of Trinity Walk, which served as a blueprint for creating more sustainable, family-focused neighbourhoods, Trinity Park’s landscape has a carefully curated overall design. The collection is made up of modern-style townhouses and apartments, with large windows spread throughout spacious rooms, and many possessing private gardens and balconies. With close proximity to Maryam Park, the design aims to enhance the social wellbeing of the community as well as creating a wonderful place to call home.
Having previously renovated a Victorian property, Nicky was thrilled to find a new, purpose-built and beautifully designed townhouse at the Trinity Park development.
She recalls: “Each time I went into look, I just thought, it’s gorgeous! It’s so lovely and I’m so lucky. I’m moving in on my own, and it’s extra special that the home is sparkling new and ready for me to put my own stamp on it. I don’t have to worry about anything – I can see outright what I’ve bought, and I don’t have to go through any hassle with renovation like I have done with previous homes I’ve owned. It provides me with real peace of mind.”
What’s more, Trinity Park’s location in Woolwich was crucial to Nicky’s decision-making process.
She says: “You have the River Thames, the parks, and the centre of the city all with easy transport connections. Woolwich is an attractive, up and coming area and you have everything you need on your doorstep. I enjoy the green, verdant space of the development – it’s a lovely place to call home. Recently, I also joined a London meet-up group on WhatsApp. They actually organised a walk in Woolwich, not far from the development, and that was an excellent opportunity to see the riverside.”
Nicky is delighted that she is embarking on a new era with her townhouse in Trinity Park and is really looking forward to what her future will bring.
She comments: “My new home at Trinity Park is light, spacious, homely and in a great location. This house is the start of an exciting new adventure for me.”
