A New Family Home for Growing, Thriving and Learning
Couple Maria and Oscar moved from Spain twelve years ago to take up research positions at UCL and Imperial. After a decade of renting and saving, the arrival of their first daughter, Julia, made it clear they needed a bigger home. This was also a chance to secure a long-term family home that suited their growing needs, with good educational opportunities and commuter links. Previously living in a rented 2-bedroom Greenwich flat, the couple had enjoyed being part of a central community with a real buzz and plenty of green space.
Maria comments: “Oscar and I had some exciting years in Greenwich. We loved the social opportunities, and it was a perfect location to commute for work and explore London. We wanted to keep these perks as we stepped onto the property ladder as a family.”
The search for their first family home began in January 2025 and was finally successful when in Springtime they came across Lovell Homes’ new 3-bedroom detached townhouses at Trinity Park in Woolwich. A short drive away from the area they loved, they were immediately drawn to the development’s curated landscape design, tranquil natural parkland and elegant architecture a stone’s throw from the River Thames. Their new home now puts them in the center of an exciting new East London regeneration project where everything they need will be right on their doorstep.
Maria says: “We were just exploring and thought that it was a great area, close to the river, with lots of restaurants and not far from the schools we were interested in. In fact, there’s several primary and secondary schools within a 20 minutes’ walk from the development. We have much more space in this house, it’s still easy to enjoy Greenwich plus the commuter links are excellent – it offers everything we could wish for in a home and from a location point of view.”
For Maria and Oscar, the feel of the development space itself was crucial - which is another reason Trinity Park stood out to them.
Maria recounts: “We viewed several new developments across London, but they were usually made up of very large blocks of flats and felt quite soulless - not many featured new-build detached houses. The uniformity meant that those places had less sense of community. You need that natural feel that comes with blending a variety of home structures. Trinity Park had that feel for us – different townhouses and a variety of apartments are cleverly arranged throughout an impressive landscape design.”
Oscar continues: “Trinity Park is unique. It’s a large development, which comes with great perks for us, and yet feels warm and friendly. Its size means there are more landscaped communal areas and shared play spaces for Julia. We also felt the setup gives us a safe and warm community feel – being part of a larger development is like having access to a large and varied backyard.”
Maria and Oscar knew they wanted to invest in a brand-new first home which was futureproof and provided a healthy environment for their family.
Oscar explains: “For us, the issue with older Victorian townhouses is that they often have infrastructure problems. They’re not ecofriendly and almost always require further investment. For families with allergies like ours, a new build also means no hidden allergens to worry about.”
The other appeal about the new-build is the chance to style their own interior - freely bringing their own identity to the space.
Maria says: “We wanted to put our own stamp on it. It’s a new house and a blank canvas!”
When speaking of the buying process with Lovell Homes, the couple remarked on how supported they felt during the buying process.
Maria comments: “It wasn’t too complicated – we started the process at the end of spring and had exchanged the signed contracts by the end of the summer. The sales team were responsive and helpful. Of course, there was some back and forth, that’s to be expected, but the team were so supportive, so it never felt overwhelming.”
Maria and Oscar are thrilled. Their new home already feels like the perfect place to start their new chapter. For them, it’s an opportunity to carve out their family life in an impressive corner of London and embark on a new era as a family.
Oscar concludes: “Owning our townhouse at Trinity Park feels amazing. We can’t wait to make it our own and create a space where our family can grow and make memories together.”
